The design of GMC 1954 step side pickups was short-lived, making surviving examples such as this GMC 100-series very rare, and the optional extras and period-correct modifications found on this frame-off, nut-and-bolt restored, add significantly to its unique nature. It's glass-smooth, deep Midnight Blue paint and carries chrome, including the extremely hard-to-find chrome grille trim surround, tire and wheels. The midnight Blue interior with red accent to finish this classic GMC 100 in-dash aftermarket tach with a floor-mount shifter. Clear finish applied to wood in bed with painted bolts and add great charm to the overall appearance.

The 1954 GMC line of trucks models featured several improvements over the previous model year, including a new one-piece windshield and a color-coordinated interior.
The 1954 GMC 1/2-ton Series 100 came with the 116-inch wheelbase.
The engine for GMC trucks was an overhead-valve in-line six-cylinder displacing 248.5 cubic inches (4.1 liters), with a cast-iron block, a bore diameter of 3.718 inches and a stroke length of 3.08 inches. The engine had a power rating of 125 horsepower, an increase over that of the previous year. It featured hydraulic valve lifters and a single-barrel carburetor.
The standard transmission speed synchro-mesh unit with a floor-mounted gear shifter. A four-speed manual transmission.
