Vehicle Description
This Gem is a rare and beautiful find! With a gorgeous cherry red finish and white top this baby looks new! The Nash Metropolitan uses a conventional front engine, rear-wheel drive format, but with the body and frame welded as a single unit. This unibody design, was produced by Fisher and Ludlow of England and advanced for a time when most manufacturers were still using body-on-frame construction. Drivetrain and suspension were supplied by the Austin Motor Company, who also did final assembly. The small 1.2 litre four-cylinder motor is an OHV format, and a compression ratio of 7.2:1 which allows the Metro to run on low-quality gasoline. The transmission has a three-speed manual with the shifter handle mounted on the flooring column. This beauty has only had 2 owners and is in mint condition with an upgraded MP3/Radio/USB/SD player and sound bar along the floor board of the back seat. It measures less than 13 feet, and is often referred to as America's first sub-compact car.
