Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup for purchase. Although the 3100 Series pickup wasn't in the class of the Cameo Carrier, they put much more of an emphasis on design and style than ever before. The market was shifting towards using trucks for more than just work and although the market was on a comeback, the overall population needed to use these for not only a utilitarian approach but also for personal transportation. The first opportunity of designing a truck that could fit both roles was in front of Chevy and they jumped on it before most manufacturers. With an eye-catching truck now in the market and with the capabilities needed to use it for more than just that, the newly designed Series 3100 pickup became most popular and was revolutionary from the cab forward. These vehicles not only grew popular in the civilian market but also for businesses alike for both work and promotional reasons.
The Truck was built in California and is featured in the October 2000 edition of Classic Trucks. It rides on a stock/modified frame with a 1976 Nova subframe. The rear brakes are drum brakes from a Nova as well along with the front suspension(IFS). The Master cylinder(which has been chromed) is from a 1978 Camaro. The steering box is from a 1976 Nova and the steering column is from a 1978 and is tilt. The truck is powered by a 350v8 paired with a Turbo 350 v8. The shifter is out of a 1978 Camaro and the driveshaft is from a 1972 Vega. The truck is also equipped with Vintage Air Conditioning. Other highlights include power steering, power brakes, power windows, quick turn -removable Grand wood steering wheel, 6 CD changer, American Racing wheels, Edelbrock carburetor/intake, dual electric cooling fans, Hooker headers, 2 tone gray leather interior.
