Used 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air for sale in Carbondale, IL

This was a complete frame off restoration and although there was very little rust we had the frame powder coated. My goal was to make this an everyday driver. The original 265 engine was rebuilt from the ground up with all new pistons, rings etc. The original power-glide transmission was rebuilt and electronic ignition installed. The original rams horn exhaust manifold was replaced with a new manifold to make room for the new rack and pinon power steering, and the old manifold will be sold with the car. The pneumatic windshield wiper drive was replaced with electric and a new steering wheel was added to the existing steering column. The drum brakes were replaced with all wheel power disc brakes with new aluminum torque thrust rims, and the original narrow five rims that were restored will be sold with the car along with four hub caps in fair condition. A new radiator with electric fan was installed and the oil bath air cleaner converted to paper filter but the old parts will be sold with the car. A two inch drop was added on front end and air adjustable shocks on the rear. New dual stainless exhaust was installed along with a new fuel tank and fuel pump. Also, seat belts were added and all new interior with sound proofing. the original non-safety glass was replaced with smoked safety glass and tinted windshield and new window gaskets and felt track. A period correct clock was installed but the old one will be sold with the car and new radio which has usb-plug-in for exterior music source was also added.
