Used 1955 Ford Thunderbird for sale in Cadillac, MI

1955 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. This is your chance to own a piece of Auto History! Only some 28,000 of these were made. The T-Bird was to be the 'gentleman's sports car' and featured automatic transmission, windows and seats while still sporting a powerful Ford engine! This car was originally black and was involved in two minor wrecks! The next owner stored it in his garage for 30 years before beginning his own restoration. The leather covered dash and upholstery are all new (2006) and the radio is a newer AM-FM with a cassette player (I still have the original radio). The 'Continental Kti'was an add-on available only in 1955. Chrome and paint match perfectly! The convertible top is and original manufacture replaced at the time of the restoration; a very costly process to have done. The top retracts and goes up perfectly! This car is a cool runner, it does not overheat as so many of this year did; hence the vents on the '56 models. The tires are modern reproductions and are in good shape! The car has only 33,211 original miles on it. Last year I had to put a new water pump on the car, so no worries there! The T-Bird Hat goes with the car!And lastly, this is the original steering wheel; rare as many found themselves to barroom walls!The car has a few minor chips in the paint and there are two tears on the cloth of the top. The tears were the result of the first time I ever put the top down and did not realize that you needed to be careful to fold all the hinges as the top was retracted. Be fore-warned! Also, it needs the fuse for the radio repaired. I have not had time to look for it, but this is a minor point! Otherwise, the car is near-perfect!
