It's one of those cars that was cool the day it rolled out of the factory in Dearborn. It didn't slowly make a climb to collector car status, it was born with collector car status. Whether you have an interest in classic cars or not, or don't know the difference from one brand of car to the next, all of that doesn't matter...You know what this car is! Finished in one of the 3 original color combinations of Colonial white with a white hard top, with matching black and white interior, this baby bird is as classy as a classic gets! Leave the hardtop on for those crisp fall and winter days, remove it during the spring and summer. The 312 CID 4 bbl engine starts and runs easily and smoothly, pull the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission into drive and you're cruising down the road in one of the most iconic American cars ever built. All of the lights work, the gauges work., all of the gauges work, and the heater and wipers work. The '55 T-bird was originally a 6 volt electrical system, but this T-Bird has been upgraded to 12 volt which, as we know is a much more reliable, modern system. This particular T-Bird has been given a lowered stance,, which gives it a little additional “Cool Factor”... Not that it needed it! The Colonial white paint with the subtle red pin-striping shows nicely, and has been on the car about 20 years or so. It's a top notch driver quality paint. What's important to know about this T-Bird is that it is a very solid, good running and operating car that offers the versatility of a hard top and a convertible, and it drives fantastic! There isn't too many cars out there, classic or current that you can show up to a car show, cruise-in, wedding, graduation ceremony, etc, etc, etc. that is more recognizable than a classic Thunderbird! If you're gonna drive a classic car, you may as well drive an Icon.
