Vehicle Description
1956 Chevrolet 210 Hardtop The Chevrolet Two-Ten, or 210, was the midrange model of the Chevrolet car from 1953 to 1957. It took its name by shortening the production series number (2100) by one digit in order to capitalize on the 1950s trend toward numerical auto names. The numerical designation '"210"' was also sporadically used in company literature. It replaced the Styleline DeLuxe model available in previous years. The Two-Ten was discontinued after the 1957 model year to be replaced by the Biscayne. The Two-Ten shared the wedge-shaped side trim with the Bel Air, but unlike the Bel Air (which had the wedge filled with an aluminum trim panel) the Two-Ten's wedge was painted either body color, or top color with the optional two-tone paint package. "Chevrolet" in script was mounted inside the wedge. This very nice example of the 210 spent it life in Arizona and made the trek to the East Coast in 2007. Since then, it has undergone some overhaul including extensive engine work, new paint, and many interior improvements/repairs. Exterior Originally Pine Crest Green, now Sherwood Green with a white hood, front quarter panel, and a belt line swoop to the rear where it opens up again to cover the trunk in white. The roof remains Sherwood Green also. Stainless brite work, chrome and grille, as well as window frames have been brought to their original condition when they left the showroom. Interior Starting at the base, new carpet in a deep neutral gray flood the floor. Seating, retaining 95% of its original vinyl, has the fabric area replaced. Also, fabric on the door panels is new, as well as a new headliner. A respray of the two-tone metal dash and the upper door rails was done to bring them back to the quality of the rest of the car. While they were at it, all new glass gaskets and glass drain tubes, and new vent windows were installed. Door glass needed to be replaced, and this was performed too. The dash is stunning with the two tone, and the two bumps holding the speedometer and the passenger Chevrolet type font logo are present and cannot be missed. An original repainted steering wheel is seen fronting the dash. Drivetrain As mentioned, the 235ci 6-cylinder engine has been completely overhauled. This is attached to the original 3-speed transmission, and the two work together beautifully. Undercarriage Due to the tepid dry climate the frame and undercarriage have been well preserved and needed little work. All rust free, and clean. This rare example of a 1956 210/4-door Hard Top is now in excellent condition. Very clean, all issues addressed with rebuild or replace strategy. A really nice example of the 4-door 210 with new paint, and a rebuilt engine. Rock around the clock.
