1957 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket 88 2 Door Sedan J2 Tri Power 371ci 310hp. This 1957 Olds Golden Rocket 88 is a beautiful authentic American Hotrod. The J2 option was available in any of the models offered for 1957 and 1958. An article in Hemmings Daily (https://www.hemmings.com/blog/article/outlawed-by-nascar-1957-oldsmobile-j-2/) " The best estimates for cars fitted with the J-2 option vary, however, between 2,000 and 2,500 during 1957 and 1958, the only two years the tri-power setup was offered". My research shows that only 5 other 2-door (post) sedans exist with the original J2 option that are running. This car is a resto-mod which has won awards in every show it has entered. The motor was just rebuilt and has less than 1000 miles on it. The car has been Lowered, decked, louvered hood, bar grille, side skirts, spot lights, frenched antennas and electric door openers. This car is a true piece of Hotrod history right out of the early time of street rodding. It sports wide whitewall tires, moon hubcaps and dual exhaust. Its interior is big enough for a family of 8 and timeless with its leather button tuft design. Vintage Air was added to make this car even more enjoyable. The engine casting number is 568929 which identifies it to be a 371ci V8. The automatic transmission is the original Hydra-matic. I have the removed body chrome and rockets and a few NOS parts.
