Vehicle Description
1963 I purchased in 2005. The engine has been rebuilt - I have all receipts. When I bought the car, I was informed that the transmission was from a later model Jaguar, and not the original Borg-Warner "slush box." The body is in good condition with only a few quarter-sized surface rust bubbles and cracks around the sunroof. The interior leather is in great condition. What it needs: New paint: A proper "chrome off, windows out, sand refinish" paint job was quoted to me to be ~ $8-9000 by a reputable local shop. The transmission leaks, but shifts normally. My mechanic said that a gasket needs replacing, which would necessitate a rebuild: ~ $2,000. The dashboard top panel could be refinished, as it has cracks (in the finish, only). I have a rubber replacement kit that goes with the car to replace all the door and window seals. I will post the receipts for the engine rebuild and other work when I get copies from my mechanic. I have added more pictures. Bottom line: this is a reliable driver that could be driven today, or restored into a show quality car. I believe the asking price takes into account the needs list.
