Vehicle Description
Selling my 1964 El Camino that was a western farm vehicle until 15 years ago and was always stored in the barn when not being used. This vehicle was NEVER rusted as all panels and floors are original to the car and are in perfect condition. No patch panels at all. The frame is perfect. A body-off restoration was not needed, even the body mounts are not cracked or damaged. The color was originally Desert Beige (938) and was changed to Satin Silver (940). There was an extensive amount of NOS trim pieces used through-out the restoration. I changed the original drivetrain from a 283/220 Powerglide to a 1966 327/300 4spd. The trans is a Super T-10 4 speed with a 2.64 first gear. The rear axle is a factory 3:08 post-traction as indicated by the code on the drivers side tube. It has an aluminized exhaust with stock mufflers. You have a choice of (4) new 15" American Torque Thrust wheels with 215x70 General tires OR (4) 14x6 steel wheels painted body color on Coker Red Line 215x75 tires with Chevelle dog dish caps. Your choice! Both sets have roughly 15k miles. There are 2 partial broadcast sheets that I found Options include power steering, power drum brakes, power windows, full tint, wood wheel, retractable seat belts, padded dash, gauges w/tach. When the tach was ordered, the clock was moved to the top of the dash, which has been converted to quartz movement. The original AM radio was replaced with an NOS unit. In the accessory tissue dispenser is a SONY AM-FM CD player with 2 speakers behind the seat and the dash speaker was changed to a pair of stereo speakers. The three materials for the bench seat is from SMS Auto Fabrics Overall, this El Camino looks, drives and runs excellent. Please email Jim or call with any questions... 401-644-8081
