A white convertible top is a recent replacement and looks great with the black paint, and steel wheels with wire hub caps and white wall tires are just the right look for this classic. Open the door and check out that awesome door panel. It's vertically pleated with a chrome strip across the top and chrome accents waterfalling from it. Gauges and controls are clear and crisp and an Alpine CD player was installed for some improved top-down tune sessions. Other than the FiTech fuel injection control to the right of the wheel and the upgraded stereo system and speakers, the interior is stock, and in excellent condition. New for '64 was the 330-cubic inch engine found in this car, and which is called the Jetfire Rocket V8. This one has been punched up to higher horsepower levels with the assistance of a FiTech fuel injection system, adding much needed pop to those red-light to red-light standoffs. That is backed up by the optional, 2-speed automatic transmission, called the Jetaway trans, which had new, variable pitch stator technology. Yes, space race technology was finding its way into our cars by the 1960s. Or at least what they were naming the parts was super gold. And yes, that is the correct color on the valve covers and air cleaner (although the air cleaner is aftermarket), as delivered from the factory in 1964. The factory power steering system helps maneuver this droptop with ease, allowing for relaxed two-finger steering, and a dual exhaust system with cherry-bomb mufflers provides a great note for the 330 V8.
