Starting in 1965 the De Ville became Cadillac's mid-line offering bested only by the Eldorado. The redesigned De Ville featured vertically oriented headlamp clusters allowing for a redesigned larger grille opening. The rear tailfins were reoriented and a straight rear bumper was also fitted. The rounded body lines of the previous generation were sharpened, giving the De Ville a more distinct appearance. Curved frameless rear windows were also fitted and tempered glass backlights were included for the convertibles. Other new features included: front and rear safety belts and lamps for the rear passenger compartment, trunk and glovebox. "De Ville" script nameplates adorned the end of the rear quarters and a redesigned perimeter construction for the frame allowed the engine and transmission to be repositioned for increased interior room. This custom convertible features a reupholstered leather interior with embroidered seats, shaved door handles, and automatic popping door locks. Under the hood lies the numbers matching factory rated 340 hp 429 cu in (7.0 L) V8. The gears are shifted by a TH400 automatic transmission that sends power through the original rear end. This car originally came from the factory with A/C and has all the original equipment in place. It also features power steering, power windows, power brakes, and tilt steering wheel.
