Used 1965 Ford Mustang for sale in Volo, IL

This Mustang is exciting from it's bright paint, polished wheels to having a performance built motor and a 4-speed. That is what catches your attention, then after a closer inspection you will really appreciate it for it's quality. It was a 2 1/2 year restoration at a professional show. We have a photo album documenting the process. Making this car great was one man's passion. I know so because he wrote it in the photo album! EXTERIOR: Professionally restored, they did a great job. Fit and finish is excellent. It is all metal- new fenders, doors and 1/4 panels. All the panels are straight and fit real nice. I had it on the lift at eye level and even along the sides it is straight, no bubbles or issues. The bright Grabber yellow is polished smooth and glossy. Jambs are slick and tidy. It has some sharp looking aftermarket sill plates with a pony that lights up, also has polished stainless inserts. All of the exterior trim was replaced- the bumpers, taillights, gas cap, handles, mirrors, emblems, wheel well trim, moldings around convertible top opening and more. In front it has all new grill and GT fog lamps. Extra chrome louvers are on each side of the grill. All the weatherstrips were replaced, even on the top. The new 15 inch white letter BFG tires and polished Torque Thrust wheels really give it that muscle look. The black convertible top still looks new, plastic rear window is crystal clear. INTERIOR: Interior is completely redone. New upholstery and cushions so the seats feel like a new car. Door panels, armrests, carpeting, window cranks, handles have all been replaced. There are some nice upgrades- embroidered floor mats, front seatbelts, retro stereo with aftermarket molded in kick panel speakers and custom gauges. There is a big tachometer on the column and a clusyer under the dash. Interior lights work, even in the glovebox. It has a power top. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a performance built 289. Bored 30 over making it 298 ci. It was also upgraded with reworked 302 heads and stainless valves. The crank was turned, upgraded with Holman Moody cam, solid lifters, roller rockers, Melling oil pump. On top of has an Edelbrock intake and carb with electric choke. Mallory Unilite ignition system. The motor runs strong.The motor compartment is clean, actually I will call it show quality. The metal is super nice, seams and spot welds are clean. The paint finishes are smooth. The bay was professionally painted with the motor out. Bottom of hood is painted glossy. It is dressed up with chrome valve covers, air cleaner and support bars. It also has very desirable power steering and power brakes. Radiator looks good, has proper shroud and an added polished overflow bottle. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the trunk is also very impressive. All the metal is clean and painted very nicely. Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are glossy, new weather strip. Has a rubber plaid liner with matching tire cover over the spare and it also has the jack. UNDERSIDE: I'm under the car on the lift, it looks great under here. Starting up front it looks like the entire front end suspension and steering was rebuilt or replaced. Upgraded with Baer disc brakes. The bottom of the motor is super clean, has new correct fuel filter with the screw on canister, starter looks new. The power steering system has been replaced. It has a top loader 4-speed with Hurst linkage. The u-joints were replaced. In back it has an aftermarket sway bar recent, air shocks and a 9" rear end. Gas tank looks new. A set of Hooker headers connect to a Flowmaster dual exhaust system with chrome extensions. The floors are all metal. We have photos showing new floor pans being professionally installed. The frame rails look good. I have just been inside and out of this car, on top and underneath. I'm very impressed! It is quality, tidy, things fit and function properly. It literally needs nothing. It is ready to go to car shows. Heck with the shows, it's ready to hit the streets!
