The GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Volkswagen Beetle for your consideration. This incredibly unique Beetle is a one of a kind creation that perfectly embodies the fun loving nature that surrounds the Volkswagen Beetle. The exterior of this vehicle features a red exterior that has a tasteful patina and custom pinstriping work. A vinyl wrap over the side panels gives a wood paneled look and features two functional external luggage racks. A 1493cc 4 Cylinder sends the power straight to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission. This Beetle also is equipped with air ride suspension. The interior features tan and burgundy seating and several tasteful aesthetic modifications such as wood flooring, wood paneled headliner, an upgraded JVC head unit paired with DB Speakers and an American Bass amplifier. The interior of this vehicle also features artwork on the driver and passenger door cards which further exhibit the fun loving nature of this Volkswagen Beetle. Currently displaying just over 64,000 miles on the odometer this one of a kind Beetle is sure to provide plenty of smiles for the next enthusiast.
With the design team being led by the legendary Ferdinand Porsche the Beetle was completed in 1938 and was the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made with over 21 million Beetles being produced. It was introduced as one of the first rear-engined cars since the Brass Era as a car for the people to highlight the country's new road network, the Reichsautobahn. The original concept behind the first Volkswagen, the company, and its name is the notion of a people's car - a car affordable and practical enough for common people to own. Hence the name, which is literally "people's car" in German.
