Vehicle Description
1966 Chevelle Resto-mod $67,500 Wow, look at this! Brilliant custom blue metallic pearl paint against crisp bright white paint grabs your attention. Likewise, the bright blue and white custom interior with council and the bucket seats in back, matching the front seats, sets this car apart from all others. For sale by owner/builder. To start, I located a rust free 34,000 mile car being modified by the second owner, the barn finder. Do to his fledgling new business, the car virtually remained unfinished and undriven. He had installed a two year old 2003 Corvette LS1 5.7L engine in 2005. I bought the car in December 2015 and completed the Resto-mod conversion in 2018. Truly rust free with no rust of any kind was found anywhere on the car. All fenders, panels etc. are original with no patches. The original white paint shined. The driver door inside top metal trim was perfect. No sweaty arm ever rested here. Here's what I did: I installed a Howard Rattler cam, cold air induction, a new aluminum radiator with dual electric fans rated at 700 hp., SS long tube headers, 2 1/2" exhaust with X cross over and Magna Flow mufflers. Professionally Dyno tuned to 420 hp. A modified 4L60E transmission, custom engineered drive shaft coupled to a 12 bolt posi-trac differential with all new 355 gears, spider gears, axels, bearings and seals. Air ride from AirTech was installed on all four corners with individual lifting controls on the council. Tubular A arms, new spindles and bearings in front. Disk brakes front and rear with with new chrome master cylinder, booster and proportionate valve. Inside: I installed Vintage Air and heat, Dakota Digital dash in carbon fiber and blue back lighting, chrome steering column, B&M shifter, nostalgic replacement radio AM/FM/MP3 with Kicker speakers front and rear. Designer trunk upholstery with 3D lighting. Bright H4 headlights with each wrapped in blue halo LED lights and LED tail lights. The custom blue paint was selected from over 400 samples by my wife and I at Keystone , an auto paint supplier. Spectacular Foose chrome wheels sets the car off nicely. Hankook premium tires 225-50ZR-17 in front and 275-40ZR-18 on the rear. The engine compartment has been completely detailed with all hoses and wires tucked away out of sight. Mirror finish stainless steel under the hood reflects the engine giving it great eye appeal from a distance. As of this writing, the car has less than 2900 miles. This car is a delight to drive. It's fast, smooth, steers straight and stops with no concern. What's not to like! You may never find another rust free 66 Chevelle built to this level for the money asked. I know I built it! I am ready to start building another car and I need to sell this one first. It's what I do in retirement.
