Vehicle Description
Family-owned for over 50 years, this 1966 Chevy Chevelle, 4-door is as original as it gets. With only 14,200 original miles, this well-kept specimen has very little wear and has pretty much been ‘kept in the garage and only driven on Sundays.’ My great uncle bought the car on July 23, 1966. During the time he owed it, he kept meticulous records of all that went on with the car. In his journal, you will find that monthly he bought 10 gallons of gas for only $4.90 and paid $12 for parking. There have been no alterations to this frozen-in-time car. Only repairs to keep it road ready such as the radiator being replaced at 13K (with another original) and tires (we have the original hub caps and store them in the trunk). This car is as close to right-off-the-lot, original that a 50 year old car could be. It runs great and looks great. As you look at other classic cars, you may be saying to yourself, "Where has this classic car been and what has been done to it?" I know and can share with you the entire history of this car because when my dad inherited it, he continued the meticulous notes. (see pics of entries for both dad and his uncle) For example, dad documented that he picked the car up on Good Friday, May 10, 1981 with 10,386 miles on it. Dad detailed the car every year and kept it covered and in his garage. I now own the car and, like my dad, chip ice and snow off the car I drive daily so this beauty can remain garage-kept. This classic is a real find. Built in Flint Michigan back in 1966, this 300 Deluxe, Chevy Chevelle is waiting for someone who can appreciate owning a time capsule from 1966. In 2014 a Pennsylvania, licensed appraiser said this about this car, " An exceptional example....outstanding for a 48 year old car." Most of his ratings were 8's and 9's with 10's for alignment, exterior paint, exterior chrome and a rating of 9 for smooth and quiet.
