Vehicle Description
I like two door sedans. I call them two door “Posts.” Maybe now for everybody. Back in the day, these were the lightest models made, so best for racing. I am a racer. This car was put together and restored by an employee at a GM Dealership. His management position offered him Full access to GM Performance parts and to their Facilities. He completed the frame-off restoration of this car in 2003. He installed all new sheet metal, new interior, new floors, new suspension, new steering, new tires, and new exhaust and rebuilt the engine, transmission and 12 bolt rear end. The Quicksilver paint is smooth as glass. The vinyl top was new. All handles, emblems, wiper arms, ETC. were replaced. The Exhaust system was new. All this was done to create a drivable show car. It has won a trunk full of significant trophies. It has been driven 14,445 miles since the restoration. It still looks fantastic. The engine is nicely dressed. March pulleys and brackets add to the eye appeal. The clutch is by GM Performance. The bellhousing is blow proof by Lakewood. The Transmission is a Saginaw four speed. The engine is a 1966 date code 396 that is .030 over. It has a nice cam. The ignition is HEI. The carburetor is an electric choke Holley. It has big tube headers. The 12 bold contains a 2.73 limited slip center section. Perfect for highway cruising. The oil has always been Royal Purple. Great care has been provided to maintain this car. The Front springs are big block rated. The rear springs are El Camino. I love the Stance! The Ansen Sprints look wonderful on this car. The front end was completely rebuilt. With Radial tires, it handles wonderfully. The interior is from a Super Sport. It has all been reupholstered. You will find a new dash pad, new headliner, new door panels, auxiliary gauges, seat belts and Hurst Shifter. The original radio is fine, but not connected if it were it would play through the kick panel speakers. This is definitely a show and go car. It is rust free due Sheet metal replacement and its Kansas roots. It looks great and runs great. We sold it two years ago to a couple from South Dakota. There driving fun of 1800 is included in the total. I was pleased to have the opportunity to buy the car back. It was well cared for and some slight improvements were made. They couldn’t say enough about the car. I am certain you will share their sentiments.
