Vehicle Description
Fresh Restoration with Pony Black Interior Quality, near flawless paint finish 347 Stroker Engine with 4 Speed Transmission Aluminum Heads & Intake with K Code Manifolds 9 Inch Rear End Shelby Underride Traction Bars Front Disc Brakes (Four Piston) Flow Master Mufflers with aluminum exhaust By 1965, Carroll Shelby had already established himself and his name as the American performance brand, with cars like the 289 and 427 Cobra regularly trouncing the competition on tracks and at stoplights around the world. He turned his attention to the Ford Mustang and, once again, repeated history ‒ turning its already-popular pony car into a fire-breather. He started with 2+2 fastbacks fitted with the High-Performance engine modifications, massaged them with an aluminum high-rise intake manifold, Holley 4-barrel carburetor, Tri-Y headers and a glasspack dual-exhaust system to produce impressive horsepower. Taking many of those ideals with modern components, this Mustang Fastback is powered by a 347ci stroker engine that is ideal for serious street performance, typically generating an honest 400hp and 390 torque, all while running on premium pump gas. Upgrading the 302 block gives the reliability for a street cruiser while still having the necessary power. Aluminum heads and intake with K-code manifolds are in place within the tidy and detailed engine bay. Beneath are Shelby underride traction bars, Flowmaster mufflers, a 9-inch rear end and four-piston front disc brakes. The fresh restoration has a paint scheme that pays tribute to one of the 1,000 special-production 1966 Shelby GT350-H rental cars for the Hertz corporation in traditional black and gold livery. Today, the GT350-H remains an iconic performance machine, easily distinguished from other Mustangs by both performance and valuation. And in this spirit, this high-performance fastback Mustang leaves nothing to the imagination.
