Vehicle Description

The Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 was a top performer among the Big Healey line while providing more luxury and comfort than ever before. Its fans of the day were saddened to see it go but it clearly left on a high note. If you've longed to own a last iteration of the Austin Healey 3000, it would be hard to do much better than this. This is a well restored car that runs and drives as good as it looks. The paint is excellent and it's all solid and rust free underneath. From the wood dash to wool carpets, the interior is an inviting place to be. Making it even more special and confirming its care of the years is the fact that the seats which are still in great shape are original to the car, not reupholstered. Many will consider retention of original seats a plus although the patina of history leaves a few minor flaws. If a prospective purchaser desires however, our expert craftsmen can install new correct seat upholstery to complete the fully restored look the car otherwise exhibits. Of importance to many collectors is that an inquiry to the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust has confirmed this Healey still runs its original engine and when new was finished in Dark British Racing Green with black seats and top. Except for retaining its original seats, this car has been fully restored. The engine was rebuilt and a new proper cloth wrapped wiring harness installed. Useful upgrades included Pertronix ignition, an aluminum radiator, and even porcelain coating the exhaust manifolds outside and inside for reduced heat soak. A nice polished cast aluminum valve cover and polished intake and carburetor parts make the engine bay as pleasing to view as the rest of the car.
