This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS Tribute Restomod is one of those cars where you can see the money before you even get close. A stock-style hood with a modest cowl always looks best on a 1st generation Camaro, and the chin spoiler up front and ducktail spoiler out back highlight the traditional Camaro design the world fell in love with decades ago. White SS stripes were painted on the hood and deck lid and the buried under the clear - turning the curb appeal up to '11' - while the blacked-out RS-spec grille and hide-away headlights set an aggressive tone up front. The bumpers and stainless trim was polished up to a bright sparkles including the rocker molding, single-element taillights, and dual exhaust tips.

The bucket seat interior looks completely stock at first glance, offering standard black buckets and factory door panels for a classic look that nobody will ever complain about. Plush black carpets, black Camaro floor mats, and a matching dash pad highlight the monochromatic look inside, and there's a factory center console augmented with a removeable storage box with cup holders along with a T-handle shifter that manages the 4L60E auto transmission below. All the original dials are long gone, replaced instead by a more accurate set of Dakota Digital units that fit perfectly inside the dual-pod gauge bezel ahead of the driver. There's a modern air-conditioning system in place that uses the dash's original eyeball vents and controls, the 3-spoke steering wheel atop a tilt column is a faithful update on the factory wheel, and even the radio looks like a factory piece thanks to the retro-style AM/FM/AUX that was neatly installed into the original slot in the dash. Again, the interior is the kind of place that looks pretty stock at first glance, but upon closer examination it's a lot nicer than its contemporaries, and it's the detailing that makes this one shine. The backseat looks like it's never been used, and even the trunk features period-correct plaid mats on the floor and spare tire for a tailored look.

They didn't mess around when it came time for horsepower, either. That's a powerful 5.7L LS1 V8 motor under the hood, swapped-in from a '99'00 GM with exceptional workmanship and neat fitment inside the engine bay. Tasteful use of body-colored paint on the valve covers and polished aluminum and chrome throughout gives the block plenty of flash, but the overall vibe, like the rest of the car, is practically OEM with a show-quality twist. They did such a great job with the motor swap, this modern fuel-injected motor looks like it always belonged in this Camaro. A big aluminum radiator, polished Street & Performance intake and throttle body, polished components driven through a serpentine belt system with polished pulleys, and coated long-tube headers all make it mechanically strong and a ton of fun to drive. The powerful motor hooks up with a 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive which means it can handle itself off the line and on the highway, and the 10-bolt rear end out back is nearly bulletproof. Underneath, the suspension was upgraded with modern A-arms and a sway bar up front, updated shocks, and the subframe was strengthened with a cross brace to help reduce body roll in the corners. Power 4-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors keep everything under control, and the smooth power steering system is a wonderful upgrade. A custom stainless dual exhaust system, with Flo-Pro mufflers give it that awesome sound we all love and the undercarriage is solid but not overly detailed, further evidence that this Camaro has lived an easy life someplace warm. Even the attractive American Racing Torque Thrust polished wheels are ideally suited to the car and wear 235/45/17 front and 255/45/18 rear tires that fill the fenders perfectly.
