Vehicle Description
Code correct Rally Red exterior with Black stinger, code correct Black leather interior, Black convertible top and Red hard top. Numbers matching 427 ci L36 390HP engine, which since restoration in 1985/86 has a 400 HP Tri-Power intake manifold and three two barrel Holley carburetors, numbers matching 4 speed manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt in the mid-1990's, retaining the original numbers matching block. The original 390 HP intake manifold, four barrel Holley carburetor, and NOS parts to return it to the original setup are included with the car. Features include reproduction bolt-on wheels, AM/FM radio, power windows, and hard top in Rally Red (not restored). Originally body-off restoration in 1985/86, and was shown extensively in California Western States Corvette Council concours in the late 80's, frequently in the top few positions (concours judging sheets included). Documented with its original Protecto-Plate (no Tank Sticker), showing the original owner and dealer which were both in California. Since the restoration the outside paint is very good, as is the restored black leather interior. Some surface rust in the undercarriage. Odometer reads 51,236 miles, which are actual as I have owned the car since 1988 (the last 30 years). This car's paint is very good with an beautiful shine. Convertible top is also very-good as well, and all glass in this car shows correct date codes. Chrome bumpers show very good finish, as do the exterior door handles. Weatherstripping, taillights, and reproduction bolt-on wheels are all excellent. Red Line 205/75R15 radial tires were replaced approximately 1000 miles ago and appear as new. The interior shows very good to excellent leather seats, door panels, carpet, dash pods, gauges (all work including the clock), and sill plates, and very good steering wheel, GM seat belts and beautiful glove box lid. The numbers matching L36 engine in this car shows original casting date August 24, 1966 (with California AIR correct designation), and final assembly date September 12, 1966. This car has some service records back to approximately 2000, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes, engine, transmission and rear-end are all in very good operating condition.
