TWO OWNER CAR / FAN FAVORITE *LOW MILEAGE, C CODE, NEW POWER TOP* NEW PERFORMANCE TIRES / MAGNUM 500S! Now that summer is here & temperatures are constantly rising! I cant think of anything suited better for the season than cruising this pony down the freeway while simultaneously experiencing total nostalgia!This Ford is the product of a noteworthy collector who began a respectful restoration several years ago. The car was originally delivered to a popular Ford Dealership in Illinois that actually is still up and running. History and some evidence points to it being utilized as a daily driver for approximately a decade. However sometime in the early eighties it was sidelined and was subsequently put in storage. Several years later the next lucky owner came across it and placed it in his stable. Once the changing of the guard took place he immediately began an honorable restoration that wouldnt commence for approximately seven years. Although I have been called picky by many I have no problem saying the car is nice and ready for total enjoyment. The original color on the car was exceptional (Nightmist Blue Poly - K code). However the new color is much brighter and everyone seems to absolutely love it! I for one am happy the switch was made to (2017 Challenger B-5 Blue)! The color really needs to be seen in person to be truly appreciated! A touch of chromabase pearl was incorporated to the material so it really dazzles in direct sunlight (pictures dont do it justice)! Since the vehicle lived a sheltered life most of the cars body lines are straight very uniform. That being said from my perspective the gap between the front fenders and door line could have been advanced forward a quarter inch or so (just my opinion). Other than that each panel seems to be pretty consistent with factory tooling specifications. The exterior surface is smooth to the touch. The fit and finish is commendable so its easy admire the vehicles overall appearance. Youll have no problem holding your head high at the local car cruise!Many attributes make it a fan favorite. A set of Raven Black side stripes really shakes up the appearance package and provides perfect contrast! A near flawless set of stainless rocker molding are attached below. This model has also been christened with a factory integrated turn signal hood and a perfect remote mirror! Both of the quarter ornaments & cowl panel still look new! Chrome accents are sprinkled throughout which provide just the right touch! New N.O.S side emblems can be easily detected along with nice grille moldings. This stallion sports a pristine set of wheel lip moldings as well.At the rear you can easily detect a new fuel cap along with excellent tail light bezels. This beauty was treated to a new TMI top 2 months ago and it still looks incredible! No expense was spared when this operation took place all new pads, straps & lines were also installed! The convertible top pump was serviced along with the fluid that keeps it functioning properly. Many individuals tend to neglect this very important process but failure to do so can cause immense & expensive problems later. No worries here all the hard work has been done for you! The top lowers in an instant and works wonderfully! She is really buttoned up nicely commendable quality investment!Upon opening the door of this rag top you will find a stark black interior! Although it can be considered pedestrian in nature the subtle surroundings fit the vehicle perfectly! The ebony seat upholstery has been replaced and really works well with the cockpit (rear bench as well). The dash pad and center section blends in nice with the remaining portions. The steering wheel is show quality along with the center emblem. A factory Ford radio sits in place that completes the cockpit. A set of flawless standard door panels have been installed from Mustangs Unlimited. The courtesy lights still illuminate when either door is open!NO MUSTANG CAN BE TRULY CONSIDERED A FREE RUNNING STALLION WITHOUT HAVING A FACTORY V/8! Thankfully Ford didnt buck the trend when this one was assembled. The factory C-Code 289 can still be found underneath the hood.This block still was showing 52,000 miles when it was rebuilt in 2006. By the way it performs I truly believe this can be accurate! Before the engine was put back on the road hardened valve seats were installed so it could burn modern fuel. This again is something that quite a few enthusiast tend to neglect that can cause major internal problems down the line. This one performs at optimal range and is very dependable. She certainly has a little more pep than what she left the assembly line with. Much more exciting to drive! An original cast iron intake still sits atop the block and FOMOCO carburetor distributes the fuel. Wiseco pistons and PRW rockers help create respectable torque and honorable horse power! Dependability is a cinch thanks in part to new plugs, wires & voltage regulator. The belts have been replaced along with both radiator hoses. An upgraded starter takes the place of the original one. To top things off the radiator, water pump, high volume oil pump & thermostat was also replaced. Many more other new parts were installed to keep it reliable (vacuum advance, cap, rotor, alternator, battery) etc. A set of factory valve covers & air cleaner further enhances the engine bay. The suspension has all recently received a clean bill of health from Firestone and a local restoration shop. New Gabriel air shocks have been recently installed that are much more enjoyable than the standard gas shocks. Much more could be said about the vehicles drive train its a reliable pony car one you can drive with confidence! Tucked underneath each corner is a nostalgic magnum 500 wheels! All are in excellent condition without a single scratch absolutely no curb rash! Spank brand new raised white letter performance tires hug the metal!
