Used 1967 Jaguar E-Type for sale in Monclova, OH
- NEW LOW PRICE - 1967 Jaguar E Type - Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe - When Enzo Ferrari saw the first E Type in 1961, he commented it was, "the most beautiful car ever made." The Jaguar E Type was designed as the successor to the Le Mans winning D Type and ranked "first" in the Daily Telegraph's 2008 listing of the "100 most beautiful cars of all time." We have to agree. It is the only automobile to be exhibited in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art as a piece of art; not as an automobile. This Jag is one very highly desirable late Series 1. It has all the best of Jaguar: the 4.2 liter motor still breathing through three S.U. carburetors, backed up by a 4-speed fully synchronized transmission, and still sporting its iconic covered headlights. When I was 16 years old I ogled a new Jaguar like this on the showroom floor of the local dealer. It was love at first sight! It took a while but I have owned Jaguars for nearly forty years since then and this is my second Carmen Red Series I coupe!
This was originally a California car (note the dealer-installed emergency flashers). It was restored about ten years ago by Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California, in a frame-off restoration (DVD video included) and has only been driven about 3,000 miles since that time.
This is a numbers-matching, factory stock restoration. The only concession was the replacement of the single, thermostat-activated two-bladed radiator fan with a pair of constant speed fans. It makes summer driving in city traffic in the notoriously humid Great Lakes region less of an adventure and a lot more practical! If you are a purist (and live somewhere cooler) the switch back is not a big deal.
This car has been meticulously maintained by one of the finest Jaguar mechanics in the Midwest (reference available). It runs like a sewing machine, handles like a Thoroughbred, stops like it has a 10,000 pound anchor out back. And the sound of that inline six engine compared to American muscle cars is like high opera compared to heavy metal.
This car includes the jack and a complete, original tool kit. Also included are some original sales material and reproduction owner’s manual. If you can find a nicer E-Type coupe, then buy it. So why am I selling this car that I so dearly love? I am getting old, I need to downsize, and I don’t want my kids to have to sell it at a fire sale. I want it to go to someone who will love and care for it for future generations. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. We need to preserve them.
