Vehicle Description
1967 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible If you are interested in this 442, you need to take a close look at it. After restoring many classic cars, frame up and rotisserie frame off Concours level cars, is why you will want to come, take a look and take if for a drive. The condition of this 442 is one of the best, if not the best of any classic cars I have come in contact with. This 442 was the 4th car off the assembly line built in Fremont, California, cowl tag (BF00004). Has a production # 120. Build the 4th week of August (08D). It’s my understanding the 442 shipped to a dealership in Arizona and the buyer after a number of years moved to Philadelphia, PA. This is where I picked up this 442 back in Sept. 2012 for a friend. After talking with the owner, he told us the car has always been garaged since purchased. Had 79,714 miles when we picked it up. The 442 was Cameo Ivory and when purchased the owner wanted it painted black, the body already in great condition. In 2013 the body was painted black, extensive prep, professionally painted and when finished wet sanded, and all trim polished. It’s a beautiful classic car. These are the reasons why I saying this is one of the best unrestored (underside) classic cars I have come in contact with. I decided to leave the underside of the 442 alone, not try to touch it up, paint it, or do anything to the underside. First , coming out of Fremont, CA the underside of the car had no prep work done or painted, to the floor pans and much of the metal from the front underside to the trunk. The floor pans and all the metal back to the trunk is as nice to me as it was when build, even though its unrestored and shows some light minor surface rust. Seconds , the frame (is still nice and smooth, no pits, showing no metal wear). Rear, control arms, gas tank, most of the rest, etc., is dirty shows minor surface rust but is in really nice condition. Third , the original bushings from the frame to the body are still in nice condition, showing minor wear. The bolts and brackets holding the bushings showing no signs of metal rusting, just light minor surface rust. Forth , you will need to take a look at the 3 pictures of the trunk. The trunk speaks for itself, still has the original splatter painted trunk, it still has the original installation under the rubber mat as if it just came off the assembly line and shows no signs of wear or weakness in the trunk pan. This 442 is an excellent candidate for rotisserie frame off, or/and a high end driver for car shows.
