1967 Pontiac GTO Coupe Born of the brainchild of John DeLorean, the initial concept was to upgrade the Tempest, morphing it into an early version of the muscle car, which was the up and coming trend in a niche market of buyers who were hungry to go fast. The name, which was DeLorean's idea, was inspired by the Ferrari 250 GTO, the successful race car. Drivetrain According to the owner the car is a matching numbers GTO, however, the 3x2 carb and manifold set up were added at the selling dealer due to the fact it was no longer an option in 1967.
