Used 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle for sale in Hooksett, NH

This Chevelle was restored in 2004 and has no rust. It was born in Georgia, spent many years in Florida, and came to NH in 2016 where I bought if from a private seller. It has approximately 5000 miles on it since the restoration in 2004. Unlike most "decal tribute" COPOs for sale, the motor in this 136 Chevelle really is the L72 427/425HP from the 1960s. This L72 has the legendary "512" block and matching "840" large rectangular port head castings; it also has Yenko 427 valve covers. This is the magic combo Yenko and a few other conspiring dealers snuck into the COPO Camaros, Novas and Chevelles by special order that never appeared in the brochures or marketing. Those original numbers matching cars now change hands at $250,000! But this is 2019....this L72 is a full roller motor. Modern internals carb and intake push the HP to well over 500 from the stock 425HP. If you enter L72 into Hemmings and other sites you'll see what COPO tributes or clone cars go for, anything with an L72 is highly prized. This car is one of, if not the best, deal you'll find. I recently had it converted to fuel injection with a FiTech fuel injection kit, she idles great and drives with great road manners. In order to curb this monster motor, I also switched out the old drum brakes for disc brakes for a much safer ride. Also had seat belts installed too. Did I mention this isn't a 4 speed tranny? The 5 speed doesn't give itself away thanks to the Hurst classic shifter. Easy low RPM freeway speeds and decent mileage! The updated 5 speed T-5 makes it a pleasure to drive with an excellent powerband. There's a 3:73 Posi 12 bolt rear end, new power steering pump, recently serviced, state inspected in NH, brand new Duracell battery. This car needs nothing to enjoy but a new driver. Engine bay is highly detailed and only beginning to show the restoration's age. The interior is solid but needs a little work. Both arm rests on the door need work, the bucket seats have no tears but need to be repadded. The AC is hooked up but does not run. The driver and passenger glass have some fine scratches. Paint is professional two stage fine metallic Burgundy. It is in excellent shape for a driver. Not sure of the original color, but I have calibrated touch up paint from 2016.
