Used 1968 Ford Mustang for sale in Great Falls, MT

This CLASSIC 1968 Mustang Hardtop was ordered for stock 05/14/1968 by Oak Motors, 910 8th Ave North, Nashville, TN, built at Dearborn, order received 05/14/68, scheduled to be built 06/19/1968, but actually built 06/17/68, released 06/19/68, and sold 06/29/1968. From purchase until it was traded into Bison Ford, Great Falls Montana (which is still in business and run by the founders son) in 1977, I do not know the history. The person that traded it in was in the US Air Force stationed at Malmstrom AFB. My sales manager Bud Quickened (deceased) purchased it for his own use. My son purchased it from Bud in 1986 and drove it till 1988. Then needing money for a down payment to purchase a home, then sold it to me. It was such a solid car that I wanted to put it back to its original beauty, a project that has lasted over 30 years. During that time it has been garaged and driven very little, a guess it would be less than 600 miles. I was in auto sales and sales management until 1999. Not having the expertise to do the work myself I knew where to go to get the quality of work done that I was looking for. After leaving the auto business I got preoccupied with real estate and doing some traveling, putting the 1968 Mustang on a slow burner. Thus not getting my dream complete until I was too old to drive it some and show it off at shows. That is the history of this Mustang as I know. My report from Marti Auto Works, this vehicle was equipped with: 289-2V V-8 engine, C-4 Select Shift Automatic Transmission, Black Vinyl Roof, Sprint Promotion B, E70X14 Wide Oval Sidewall Tires, Power Steering, Air Conditioner – Select-Air (in dash) (which I read somewhere the 1968 Mustang was the first year for the in dash) , AM Radio, Tinted Glass, Argent Styled Steel Wheels, Acapulco Blue Paint, Blue Vinyl Standard Bucket Seats. The Sprint Package B” were for V-8 only and consists of: C-Shaped Side Stripes, Wheel lip Moldings, Pop-Open Gas Cap, Styled Steel Wheels and Grille-Mounted Fog Lights. With Fog Lights, a C-Stripe, and Styled Steel Wheels, Sprint Package B was essentially a GT without the added cost of its mandatory four-barrel engine and heavy-duty suspension. Although the Package B Sprints didn’t have the GT emblems on the fenders or center wheel caps, the cars were often identified as GT models, a confusing situation that continues to this day, When I had this Mustang repainted, the Acapulco Blue paint was so beautiful, I did not replace the C-Stripe which can be added should someone want. Other than the duel exhaust I had installed and aftermarket radio someone added before it came to Montana, THIS MUSTANG IS ORIGINAL. Now to how, what and when I brought it back to showroom condition.The original engine was rebuilt 4/29/02, by Automotive Machine Inc 813 25th Street, Great Falls, MT. The mechanic that did the work was a friend of the family since 1970, a retired High School Shop Teacher, who had worked part time for years (summer breaks) and after retirement, because of his love of mechanics was working fulltime, did the rebuild himself. The paint and body work was done by Troy, owner of T-C Collision Center 21 S Manchester Rd Great Falls, MT. Troy’s love is classic vehicles and he did the paint himself of which he is a master (pictures do not do justice it is truly BEAUTIFUL . All chrome was replaced both bumpers, moldings, emblems, wheel lip moldings, all wheel trim rings, center wheel caps and wheels new paint. In 2017 the entire interior was redone, seat covers, carpet, door panels and armrest pads, dash pad, sun visors, carpet, headliner, new vinyl roof, and a new windshield.
