Vehicle Description
1969 Camaro Super Sport Convertible, Stroker V8 Power - Pro-Touring, Complete Restoration.
The LaFontaine Classic Car team proudly presents another incredible piece of muscle car history! Check out this '69 Camaro SS Convertible, finished in an eye-catching bright green that draws a crowd wherever it goes!
Recently undergoing a complete rotisserie restoration, this beauty is fresh with under 500 miles driven since completion. Looking down the side from front to rear reveals smooth, straight, body panels proving the countless hours spent preparing the sheet metal for the factory hue. The final step of the process was carefully applying the factory code ""79"" Rallye Green color - the exact same color this Camaro was born with. Only 4.9% of these first-generation cars were treated to this color which makes this convertible stand out amongst other Camaros of the same era. The black ""Hockey Stripes"" accent the green perfectly, and were applied in paint instead of the optional vinyl, resulting in a higher quality finish. The chrome and stainless trim appear to be mostly original and in good shape along with the factory style emblems and badges. A brand-new black convertible top was recently installed along with a new trunk liner and pads, all of which take this Camaro to another level.
Under the hood, a Chevrolet Performance 383 cubic inch stroker small block sits between the frame rails providing enough power to upset many of the contenders pulling alongside to temp their fate. The 383-crate engine is factory rated at 435hp with 445ft lbs torque - add in titanium coated Hooker Super Comp headers and Holley fuel injection, those numbers increase to an estimated 450hp / 450ft lbs. For a more modern look, a March Performance front accessory drive was installed along with a Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans to keep the engine cool on those hot summer days. The Holley Terminator Stealth EFI system is one of the most popular systems on the market thanks to its many user-friendly features combined with the throttle body having the appearance of a carburetor for a more traditional look under the hood.
Applying the power to the rear end is the strong, dependable, genuine GM, 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive. Bringing up the rear is a completely GM 12 bolt rear axle assembly including aftermarket axles, 4.10 gear ratio, and posi-style differential distributing power to both rear tires.
Looking at the underside reveals more impressive attention to detail from front to rear. The body color painted floors immediately catch your attention as the black powder coated sub-frame provides a perfect color contrast. Moving to the suspension, it was obvious this drop-top was designed and built to perform using Hotchkis brand components throughout. Incredible handling characteristics are thanks to tubular upper and lower a-arms, oversized front and rear sway bars, contoured frame connectors, special rate coil springs, and Hotchkis / Fox shocks on all 4 corners.
Inside the cockpit of this exceptional Camaro, you will find a combination of classic style with modern technology. Both front and rear seats, along with the side panels, dash and carpet are refurbished or have been replaced in the factory original color code ""771"" (black). The 3-spoke steering wheel looks great while providing a perfect view of the dash gauge cluster from Dakota Digital. These gauge clusters give a modern spin on the stock, factory gauges - they are fully programmable to display information in many different ways from analog, to digital, including multiple option features found in the manual included with the purchase of this beauty. All interior and exterior lighting has been converted to LED including headlights and tail lights - these bulbs are much brighter and provide a sharp, clean look compared to the factory stock bulbs.
