Vehicle Description
Today, the second generation of Chevrolet C10 pickups are some of the most beloved collector vehicles in existence, and for good reason. Also known as the “Glamour Pickups,” they’re drop-dead gorgeous, have timeless styling, possess a good build quality and are easily drivable in modern traffic. With such a good working canvas, levels of restoration can range greatly, suiting each owner’s personal tastes, given widely accessible parts and upgrade choices. Ultimately, the love affair with a pickup is broad and far-reaching, as most everyone has a connection or favorite memory, making them hot commodities to own. After a frame-off restoration, all four boxes have been checked on this stunning 1970 Chevrolet C10 pickup: Body, interior, refinements and powerplant. The bodywork is extraordinarily smooth and straight, with gold metallic paint, panel fitment and brightwork all crisp and nice. The tops of the bed stake holes were filled and smoothed, as was the exterior tailgate handle, so the release is moved to the inside of the color-matched Rhino-lined bed. The custom TMI saddle leather interior is flawlessly stitched and riveted, as are the door panels. The center console and cup holders add modern convenience to the bucket seat layout, which features fresh carpeting. Refinements include power steering, power disc brakes, 12-bolt rear axle and American Racing wheels (20-inch in the front and 22-inch billet in the rear), with a beautifully detailed engine bay and undercarriage. The “crown jewel” of this truck is the beast of a powerplant: a 383ci stroker V8 engine built with Brodix aluminum 18-degree heads, Eagle rods, team “G” intake; it is a full roller motor (camshaft, lifters, rocker arms) for amazing sound and performance.
