Vehicle Description
CLASSIC AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION FOR SALE: A gorgeous and painstakingly restored 1970 Dodge Challenger RT/SE resurrected in its original Hemi Orange color. This is the high-performance, Special Edition (SE), Road/Track (RT) model, which includes a 440 big-block, V-8 engine; black leather seats; a black vinyl roof; a small, "formal" rear window; and an overhead, interior console with three warning lights. In 1970, Dodge only made 34 Challengers RT/SEs in Hemi Orange. Few of these rare American muscle cars remain today -- and fewer still are in this kind of condition. Check out the photos. They speak for themselves. This car was purchased in February 2006 from an owner in Arizona for $36,500. At the time, the car was painted Plum Purple. The new owner, Andy, purchased the car with the intent of returning it to its original VIN color. This is a U-code car. From June 2008 through August 2010, Scott Ewing of S&S Mopar Muscle in Southern California meticulously restored the car, replacing the front cowl area and roof, fitting new sheet metal and, of course, repainting the entire vehicle in its original Hemi Orange. Meanwhile, Steve Rzesnowiecky at Universal Automotive and Engine Rebuilding in Las Vegas completely rebuilt the eight-cylinder, 440-cubic-inch engine. Desert Transmission of Las Vegas rebuilt the car's three-speed, Torqueflite automatic transmission with 2800 stall. Drive Line Service in Las Vegas installed a new drive axel. Motor Mayhem of Meridian, Idaho rebuilt the steering box and column. Andy spent more than $120,000 restoring this vehicle to its original condition. (All documents related to the restoration are available.) He's asking for $65,000 or will consider a trade. Call 805-400-0145.
