Vehicle Description
1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee 2-Door Hardtop - 440 Six Pack - 13,852 Original Miles - One of 1,072 Produced - Same owner since 1981 - Sublime (code FJ5) Paint Color - All Original Paint/Factory Markings in Door Jambs - True Survivor MOPAR (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are not presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Garage Kept Motors is honored to represent such a cool and original 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee for consideration. This is a true, numbers matching 440 Six Pack car wearing its original Sublime paint color. The original owner of the car owned a Chrysler Dealership in Dearborn, Michigan. He ordered the car new as he preferred the 440 Six Pack to the problematic Hemi. The vehicle sat in the corner of his building through the late 70's. Our client then purchased the car in 1981 with 7,468 miles on the clock. It has been owned and cared for like the prized possession it is, garnishing awards and trophies at multiple high end shows. Today, the car has 13,852 actual miles. Our client drove recorded 6,384 miles in 39 years of ownership. As stated above, the car is finished in original Sublime (code FJ5) color paint with the Fresh Air Hood (code N96) ordered option. It is the original paint from the factory and still has factory markings on the door jambs and trunk. It remains in remarkable condition. The roof color is also FJ5 Sublime over a high trim grade Black Vinyl (code H2X9) interior, which includes rare factory headrests. Interior also remains factory original and in excellent condition. You will be hard pressed to find another Super Bee with original paint and interior, let alone the original powerplant. And what a powerplant it is! This beautiful MOPAR is powered by the coveted 440ci/390 3x2bbl V8 engine, more commonly known as the 440 Six-Pack. All numbers match; it is original to the car. These motors were often preferred to the Hemi's for being more robust and more reliable. The 727 TorqueFlite Automatic transmission is also original to the car. There are five different locations where the VIN has been verify: on top of the dashboard, on the motor, transmission passenger side, behind the radiator support member, and under the weather stripping on drivers side trunk rail. The block casting number is 2536430, which designates a 1970 build date. The car runs and drives incredibly well, and sounds phenomenal doing it. Be sure to check out the video. The car remains highly original except for a few tasteful upgrades. Our client purchased the car with the chrome Cragar Mags but added a stainless steel exhaust system with side cut-outs. They make this beefy car sound even more exciting. The only other thing he did was undercoat the car right after purchase in 1981 as that was a common practice for the era. Other than that, the car remains like new from the factory. On the Super Bee registry, the car is listed as number one on the list. Furthermore, this car was professionally photographed and featured in the Snap-On Tools Classic Car calendar for April. It has also won best B-Body at the Gilmore Car Museum MOPAR Show. If desired, the original Good Year Polyglas F70-14 tires can accompany the sale. In summary, what we have here is a true survivor MOPAR with all known ownership history, 13,852 original miles, and only 1,072 produced all together. Numbers matching 440 Six-Pack with all original paint and interior. This is an amazing collector car at a more than fair price point considering what's mentioned above.
