1970 Ford Bronco The Ford Bronco was introduced in 1966 with the goal to competed with the Jeep CJ and International Scouts. This early example of a SUV paved the way for many of the SUVs you see on the road today. The idea man behind the car was Donald Frey who also came up with the idea of the Ford Mustang. It was then approved for production by the recently deceased Lee Iacocca. The Blazer continued to be made until 1996 when it was replaced with the Expedition. Good news for Bronco fans though because the model is set to be reintroduced in 2021! The Bronco was very successful in its early years and continues to be a highly desirable collectors classic today. Looking at pictures of the possible new designs of the 2021 Bronco and it is clear the inspiration stems from the 1st generation like what you see here. This 70 Bronco is a 100% fully frame off restored SUV and sitting behind the wheel feels like being transported back in time to the dealership. It really is in excellent like new condition. It was released from the Michigan Truck plant as all Broncos were and per the Marty Report was equipped with 4 ply mud and snow tread tires, free running front hubs, the sport Bronco package and an AM radio. It was ordered from the Houston DSO so there is a good chance it has spent a large part of its life in Texas. It was not originally this color but was redone in a Turquoise and White color that is absolutely beautiful. The finish on the paint is excellent from the body to the interior and even under the hood. The chrome on these trucks were limited primarily to the bumpers which are nicely mounted in place with zero pitting or issues. It has a 4 inch lift kit and rides on US Mag Bronco wheels with fresh Toyo tires. Under the hood is the original 302 motor that has been entirely rebuilt from top to bottom. The build is fresh with less than 100 miles since completion so it really is like driving a new car and will continue to be so for many years to come. The motor has a nice clean look being mostly painted in Ford Blue. All of the wires, hoses, and lines are cleanly routed making for a very uncluttered nice engine compartment. The transmission is a 3 speed manual which transfers power back to the 3.50 limited slip rear. The interior is just as nicely finished out as the rest with the seats done in Turquoise pleated inserts inside Black. It has the dual bucket seats up front with a bench in the rear. The front section of the floor board is carpeted with the back floors painted. The dash has the stock style layout with everything working properly and looking like new. The shifter and 4WD controls are routed through the floor and operate correctly. This is such a nicely done restoration with nothing left to be desired. If you wanted a new 70 Bronco then here it is.
