It has tons of appeal with just a few strategic and well-applied upgrades. The 350 small block is an iconic motor for many great reasons, not the least of which is parts availability. It's easy to service and it runs like gangbusters. An Edelbrock 4-barrel on an aluminum intake adds some extra sauce. An ultra-dependable automatic feeds the power through a two speed transfer case to all four wheels when needed. The truck looks just the way it should with white painted steel wheels and a period-correct yellow and white paint scheme. Of course in a '72, the body color carries into the dash and doors, and it has a beautiful white bench seat and contrasting black carpeting. Another nice period-correct touch is the three-spoke steering wheel with the bow tie in the middle. There are other niceties like factory air, and the hard-to-find factory tach.
