Vehicle Description

I've owned this car for 15 years. It is not a show car, but you can certainly drive her from the east coast to the west coast with nothing but gas and a quart of oil. It came from the factory with a 307 engine, THM 350 transmission, PS, A/C, vinyl top, and the ZJ5 exterior trim option. It now sports a 1978 4-bolt main 350 engine with1.94 heads. In all honesty, the motor was in the car when I bought it and was said to have been rebuilt. I've had no reason to doubt that claim. It runs super strong and has a ton of power and a small cam giving it a little rumble. The Performer intake has a 600 Edelbrock carb on top, MSD billet distributor and digital 6AL box providing fuel and spark. Headers with 40-series Flowmasters exit the exhaust out the back.. When I first bought her, I took the nose off, removed the intake and had it powder-coated, painted the engine, new headers, new GM LT1/Z28 valve covers, and just a thorough detailing. The valley was spotless as was the valve train. Later I changed the oil pan after the quick lube guy stripped the plug and the old pan was spotless inside. I'm telling all of this because when you first fire her up after sitting a couple weeks she will puff a little blue smoke for the first couple of minutes. It clears up with no problem. It probably needs valve guide seals so keep that in mind. It uses a quart of oil every 1,500-2,000 miles under normal driving conditions but runs-out 100%, no noises or issues. I converted the transmission to a 4-speed using a 3-ring Input shaft Saginaw (Google that for specs) with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter. I also changed the steering column to a floor shift unit at that time. Even the clutch-safety switch is hooked up! (You have to depress the pedal to engage the starter.) Clutch is an 11-inch NAPA setup with a reproduction "621" aluminum bellhousing. The rear-end is the original 2.73 non-posi with OEM multi (5) leaf rear springs. It will cruise ALL DAY LONG on the interstate at 75 mph taching about 26-27 hundred rpms while getting 15-16 miles per gallon. It is certainly a blast to drive. The speedometer reads correctly as well. I have upgraded to front disc brakes using all original GM parts from a parts car, spindles, steering arms, brackets, etc. adding the new power booster at the same time. The after-market rally wheels are 15" and the tires MIGHT have 10,000 miles on them. I have replaced all of the brake and fuel lines as well. I have done NOTHING to the exterior except for adding the SS louvers to the hood and painting the grill satin black along with buffing and waxing the body. The fellow I bought it from didn't paint the body either, so the paint is close to 20 years old and is in great driver-quality condition. It is Sequoia Green. It has some chips, light scratches, and a small bubble on the right rear wheel lip that started showing a couple years ago. Look at the pictures, it's a darn nice car but NOT a perfect car. Floors are solid with very minimal rusting, there again, very nice but not perfect. The Interior is nice, needing nothing. I had the seats recovered about 5 years ago and I installed a Shiftworks Tachometer in the dash with a red light set for 4500 rpms. The horn sometimes won't sound but everything else works as it should including all lights, wipers, heater and A/C. It is converted to 134(a). If you're looking for a nice cruiser or for a nice car to rebuild into that high-buck show car then here you go. It has been stored in my heated garage when not being driven for the past 15 years. I have put about 40,000 miles on her during this time driving all over the east coast and even to Canada in 2010. The odometer reads 60,600 now and my clear Ohio title states that the 18,940 that was on it when I bought it was original, but I highly doubt that it was! Judging by the condition when I bought her it had probably just rolled over once.
