Vehicle Description
Don’t pass up this stunning second-series Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce. This car is in excellent condition both inside and out. The car was originally manufactured in Italy and sold in the United States. I have records of the vehicle being sold from a dealership in Santa Barbara, California in 1978 and complete transaction records showing that the car has remained in CA since: I’ve owned the vehicle since 2004. This Spider has been very well maintained and underwent an exterior refurbishment earlier this year to bring it back to its original luster. It looks and drives like a dream, and is sure to turn heads when cruising down the road with the convertible top down.
The car is flawlessly finished in the original Grigio Chiaro Metallic paint with black canvas convertible top (restored in 2002). The vehicle’s exterior has undergone an extensive, two year long refurbishment (completed in July of this year) and looks absolutely stunning; the photos speak for themselves. All panels are straight and completely rust free. The car is powered by a 2-litre, inline 4 cylinder gasoline engine with a 5-speed manual transmission (only 34k miles on new transmission). The odometer shows 33.7k miles, but the odometer only goes up to 99k miles and records show that the actual mileage is 133k.
The refurbishment this year focused on the exterior of the vehicle, but the black vinyl and rubber interior is in very good condition, a product of superb maintenance over the years. The seats were redone in 2002 at the same time the convertible top was restored and has been covered and garaged ever since. The dials are all working, but a missing air hose under the dash means that the air/heater only works on the driver side, and the turn signal isn’t working, both simple fixes. Additionally, there is some waviness in the door panels. The rubber floor mat set is in good condition, but a hole in the driver side floor mat is currently covered by new carpet floor mats. The radio has been updated with one that is Aux/Bluetooth compatible so one can now easily listen to their favorite playlist while on a joyride. And don’t forget the gorgeous wooden steering wheel; just one of the innumerable and tasteful finishing touches by Alfa Romeo. The only elements of the car that are not period correct are the shortened antenna, the stereo, trim along the length of the mid-body, and the license plate lights. In the case of the license plate lights, I opted to not re-install them after paint because I think that it looks much better. I can install them upon request from the buyer.
The Inline, 2 liter 4 cylinder engine with Spica Fuel Injection is rated at 130 horsepower and is shown starting up and running in the video linked here: I’ve taken an eco-friendly approach to maintaining the vehicle; that is, if it isn’t broken, clean it up and let it be, no need to create more waste than is necessary. As a result, everything in the engine compartment works and runs well, but things like hoses and fluid reservoirs look their age. Still it looks clean and runs beautifully, which can be seen here: and here: The vehicle has a new clutch master cylinder and a new set of tires.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. This is such a fantastic car to own. I would love to keep it indefinitely, however, I am finishing up my doctorate this year and need to start paying off student loans. I am looking for a buyer that will love and maintain the vehicle as much and as well as I have. Thanks for looking.
