Re-painted original AMC stock color in 1995, did not replace body stripe, but retained the chrome trim which had outlined the vinyl roof. 360-cu.in. engines used cast crank-shafts, connecting rods and aluminum pistons. Parts availability and interchangeability is very good with other AMC and Jeep vehicles. The high-nickel-content metal used in all period AMC V-8 blocks makes them very robust and able to withstand high mileage without difficulty. “It has one great overriding asset...STYLE. There is no denying the Javelin is a 100% eye-grabber and neck turner. Blatantly big, bold and brassy, the Javelin radiates an image that stands it spectacularly apart from the crowd; like Raquel Welch as lead singer in the Vienna Boys Choir. The Javelin's body is a long, low, wide and mean eyeful which gives the car an aura of hairy chested potency...a chew 'um up and spit 'um out machine. Inside and out, the Javelin absolutely exudes pose appeal. And in that department it certainly has what's needed to turn people on.” Wheels Magazine April 1973 “The Javelin...as pretty a coupe as ever danced down a country lane, looking as good today as it did two decades ago when the first one came off the line. The Javelin is a fine choice for the collector who marches to his own drummer”. Collectible Automobile Magazine October 1987 The Javelin was bought in 1995 with 87,000 miles on it; I am the 3rd owner. Price also includes: 1973 AMC Javelin parts car (no title); a 360 engine with 727 transmission (40,000 miles, salvaged from a 1975 AMC Matador); plus 2 barrel carb, grille, taillight assembly and assorted parts; original spare wheel and 20+ years of accumulated trophies.
