1974 VOLKSWAGEN THING CONVERTIBLE ODO 6582 1600 CC V4 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANS REAR SIDE AIR SCOOPS SIDE CURTAINS FOLD DOWN WINDSHIELD REMOVABLE DOORS Classic, rugged and reliable 1974 Volkswagen Thing convertible. These VW Thing's were produced from 1968 to 1983 however only imported to the United States for two years, 1973-1974. They have a long reputation for being durable and easy to maintain. This example is a California car that is superbly finished in Orange. The rear side air scoops, exclusive to 1974, are in great shape. The interior appears to be almost all original and in good condition. The 1600 cc engine runs great and the 4 speed manual transmission goes through the gears with no issues. The under carriage for the most part is in good shape however there is slight rust on the driver side. New floor pans are included with the purchase. The top operates manually and is in overall good condition with the exception of two small tears.
