Vehicle Description
Among the myriad categories of performance vehicles, one of the all time favorites is what is affectionately known as the sleeper. A sleeper is a car (or truck) that is much more than what it looks like at first glance. Often the vehicle will be as non-descript as a taxicab, but it packs a punch under the hood. This 1975 Datsun 280Z takes the sleeper concept to another level. It's bright red paint and sporty looks invite a challenge, but there's much more here than meets the eye. 280Zs were and are popular cars with many fans due to their clean sporty lines and spritely performing 6 cylinder engines. But this one is packing a built 350 Chevy. Sure, that's been done before, but the engineering, workmanship, and appearance of this build is truly outstanding. The engine compartment has been painted and detailed. The engine is resplendent with Billet Specialties valve covers and air cleaner for a modern, professional appearance. The underhood presentation is top shelf all the way. But with engines, as you know, it's the hardware that counts. This one has been done up with Edelbrock Performer aluminum heads, an EPS Performer intake, and Edelbrock 4-barrel carb. An MSD ignition lights the fire and the exhaust exits via Hooker ceramic coated headers through custom pipes and Flowmaster mufflers. You can count on 400 eager horses to be at your beck and call at any time. The 700R4 automatic provides reliable performance and consistency in a straight line, with a shift kit giving you authoritative shifts and extra control for track work, autocross, or spirited street performance. The third member is an R200. For handling, the suspension has been restored with new components where necessary. No true performance package is complete without the right braking system, so this Z has power disc brakes all the way around. Custom bucket seats with red stitching and adjustable bolsters are really comfortable and look great. A MOMO steering wheel also looks great and gives you the ultimate in control and feel. Air conditioning and a custom sound system keep you comfortably entertained. The high quality of the build is certainly evident outside. You'll notice the fit and finish is excellent throughout and the paint is smooth and shiny. Subtle touches like LED headlights, custom molded rear bumper and spoiler kick it up a notch visually. You'll know as soon as you fire it up that this 1975 Datsun 280Z is indeed something special in terms of looks, performance, and quality craftsmanship inside and out. Get it now. Before it gets you.
