Vehicle Description
OFFERED FOR SALE 1976 TRANS AM VIN# 2W87WGN582767 PHS DESCRIPTION AS FOLLOWS: 455 4BBL PKG Radio Stereo AM/FM RW Defroster Console Front Mats Floor Front Guards Door Edge Custom Trim Group GR 70 15 WL Tires Acoustic Insulation Hood Decal Roof Moulding Mats Floor Rear Lamp Group This car was restored in the years of 2012-2013. This is a rotisserie restoration, and the car has not been driven or shown since the restoration. Showing mileage of 102,148. Restored most of the car myself as I mostly do Shelby Mustangs. I must say somewhat different and to say thanks to Ron at Potomic Classic Pontiac for so much help, as to be sure all components were correct. This Trans Am has all original sheet metal except for LH outer quarter panel, as it seems to have been changed many years as for being brazed on. Quarter was installed nicely, I was able to work around the work that had been done. The floor pans are very nice as was the trunk and wheel house area on both sides. RH rocker panel and door are very nice. LH rocker panel and door nice with the exception of LH door LWR. Pinch weld needing attention. The original VIN data sticker remains on LH door. Trunk lid is also original needing little work. Car retains original fenders, hood, header panel, and front and rear bumpers including facia with all original spoilers and ground effects. Retains original jack/lug wrench/spare wheel. All wheels refurbished inside and out. Car also retains original 3rd member along with original/correct 4 speed and shifter. As per pictures, engine block is standard with VIN/passenger side front of block. Engine is mildly rebuilt as the transmission and 3rd member also gone thru and checked. Car functions very nicely, drives very well, no rattles, smooth and very tight. As the restoration went, even with Ron’s help, I could not locate original intake or carburetor, also missing are exhaust manifolds and therm pump. Everything else is intact, clock, tach, Am-Fm stereo all work well. Interior is deluxe and all original except for carpet and headliner. Windows and locks all work well. Side glass/doors and rear window original. In 1976 / the 455 Trans Am required one year only fuel line and emission lines. Thanks to Classic Tube for manufacturing correct tubes and lines in stainless steel as can be seen by pictures. This is a summary of the restoration. Car was sold new at Austin Pontiac Inc. in West Seneca, New York as per PMH. Very early in its life it wound up in Southern Pennsylvania. More Information Contact James @ 570-864-3517
