Used 1976 Triumph TR6 for sale in Purcellville, VA

This classic 1976 TR-6 in Java Green is in excellent condition. It was a Texas vehicle with the first two owners and was garage kept the entire time. The absence of snow there helps a lot too! The car was never a daily driver. I bought the car in 2012 and was only once caught in a rain shower after which it was thoroughly dried. The car has always been stored under a cover in a ventilated garage. Concerning maintenance, I was fortunate to find Chip Collingwood, proprietor of UK Motorsports in Richmond, VA. Chip is a nationally recognized British Leyland expert/mechanic and technical advisor to Moss Auto parts. As soon as I received the car from Texas, I had it for about a month and had it truck-shipped to Chip for a thorough going over. He made a list of recommended upgrades and repair work to make the car top notch mechanically, which he completed. I have spent over $7000 in upgrades and repairs to get it to it's current condition. I can provide a list of his work to sincere and interested persons. The engine runs extremely well and starts right up. I believe the secret is the exclusive use of ethanol-free gas. This is straight gasoline without the negative effects of ethanol so there is no corroding of rubber hose lines and diaphragms in the twin carburetors which gums everything up. In addition to the ethanol-free gas, I use Brad Penn semi-synthetic high zinc/phosphorous motor oil, recommended by Chip. The exterior is in excellent condition. The entire underbody was Ziebart coated when purchased so rust issues have been negated. For those of you who don’t know about Ziebart, it’s a tar-like substance sprayed on the under carriage that dries and forms a protective barrier to the elements. Newer cars have no need for this with modern, rust proof materials but it was a common application during the era of this car. The car has the usual rag top, a tonneau cover and a cover for the top when down. The spare is full size. The tires are Coker Red Line. The interior is in great shape too. The seats were replaced with British Victoria hi-back seats made especially for this model. They are far more comfortable than the original Leyland design… and not cheap, either! Carpets are excellent. The dash has no defects. There is nothing better than driving this vehicle on a winding, country road with the top down and hearing the sweet, rumbling sound of that unmistakable TR6 engine.
