But that displacement wasn't enough for the owner of this little convertible, so he went about and had a fuel-injected 350 V8 installed in the engine bay instead. Tucked in there like it always belonged, the added horsepower and torque flings the MG into corners with ease, and honestly, this might be the most exciting car to drive in our showroom. It's also nicely detailed with chrome Chevrolet valve covers and an open element air cleaner that sits atop the Edelbrock intake manifold. Wrapped headers feed into a dual exhaust system that provides so much more rumble than anyone would ever expect to come from a little British roadster, and it will make you want to rev the throttle at every opportunity. A 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission was swapped in during the resto as well, and it spins a posi-traction rear end with billet steel gears. So yeah, you can stand on it when the light turns green. Despite the added weight of the new drivetrain, the MG still handles surprisingly well, and power front disc brakes bring the whole show to an abrupt stop. Oversized black Ruff Racing wheels set the stance nicely and they're wrapped in 225/45/17 blackwall radials.
