Stock Number: RD-1369 1979 10th Anniversary 4 Speed Trans AM - One of only 1,817 to receive the Pontiac W72 400 rated at 220hp. It is the first year the Trans AM window sticker would eclipse $10,000. On the heels of the Smokey & the Bandit phenomena and the success GM experienced with the 1978 Special Edition Corvette, Pontiac decided to celebrate the first decade of the Trans AM with a 10th Anniversary Edition. It was also announced that this would be the last year the Pontiac 400ci Engine. Dealers were quick to mark up these cars as much as 100%, an additional $10,000, as collectors scrambled to acquire one. So there was no shortage of reasons to consider purchasing this special Anniversary Edition Trans AM. This low mile Anniversary Trans AM was restored with a nod towards keeping this car as original as possible, but also replacing any worn parts or upgrading anything that was not showing well, a rejuvenation process was started.
