Vehicle Description
This nice Jeep has been lovingly cared for. Its first owner was Pete, so we have named the Jeep “Pete”. He used it at his home for running errands and plowing his driveway. The plow brackets and hydraulic system are still in place, but there is no plow. At some time, Pete decided to improve the appearance of his Jeep. He purchased and installed a fiberglass body. That is no easy or cheap task! It appears as original, with all lights, gauges, etc. properly installed. The fiberglass hood has the proper closures and prop. The frame on this Jeep is in very solid condition, as are the body mounts. Many have rusted away, but not this one. It was undercoated, so that likely offered protection. The most recent driver did not use Pete in winter. He did not get the plow and always stored it in his heated garage. We have receipts for recent mechanical repairs that include new brakes, new water pump and new radiator. All lights, gauges and features work properly. The heater works great, as do the wipers. There is a Retro AM/FM radio that plays well. The mileage of 55,571 is ACTUAL miles. The mileage was recorded on the title many years back. Due to the age of the vehicle, it is exempt from odometer disclosure. The durable 258 inline six cylinder runs great. It starts instantly and performs just as you would hope. The transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch grips firmly. It is riding on good radial tires with plenty of grip for off-road fun. The front axle has disc brakes and the rears are drum. It stops on a dime! The craftsmanship on the bracketry for the plow is well-done. If you decide to mount a plow, it will certainly handle it. The rear bumper and hitch is also hand crafted and well-done. There is a carrier that attaches to the top of the front bumper for hauling ladders, a canoe or kayaks. If you are like me and don’t like to get sun-burned, the Bestop bikini top is like new. The owners have done their best to preserve and care for Pete. It had the oil changed every spring, no matter how much it was used. You will find the original owner’s manual and warranty booklet in the glovebox. There is a lot of fun left to be had with Pete. He is in great shape and has only been used gently. You are investing in many years of enjoyment for not a lot of money.
