This 1983 Ferrari 400i underwent a convertible conversion under prior ownership, and the car was owned by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Rod Stewart in the early 1990s. Finished in black over black, the car is powered by a 4.8-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a black soft top and matching boot cover, metric five-spoke wheels, Bosch fuel injection, MSD ignition, and a Sony stereo. The current owner acquired the car in 2016 and has since added about 500 of its 23k indicated miles. This 400i convertible is now offered on dealership consignment with a copy of a 1991 title in Roderick Stewart’s name as well as a clean California title.
The car is finished in black with a black soft top and a matching boot cover. Dings on the front and rear bumpers are noted, and the paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.
Five-spoke 415mm-diameter wheels are mounted with 240/55 Michelin TRX tires. Each corner is equipped with disc brakes.
The black leather interior features matching carpeting with floor mats front and rear as well as a Sony stereo. Wear is noted on the shifter surround.
A Momo steering wheel sits ahead of Veglia Borletti instrumentation that consists of a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges that extend to the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the current owner.
The 4.8-liter quad-cam V12 features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, and an MSD 6AL-2 ignition box has been installed. Output was rated at 315 horsepower when new, which is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
