Vehicle Description
This Jeep is unlike most. It is not rusty, nor has it ever been! I has only been in the Midwest two years. It has never seen snow or salt and was always kept in the garage. Before that, it was in Texas. It also spent time in Oklahoma. It is in great condition. The body, floors, frame, body mounts and suspension are rust-free. The underside has been repainted. The body was repainted some 20+ years ago to the original red. It shows some scars from the fun it has enjoyed. You will find scratches, chips, dings and touch-ups. It still looks great and shines up nicely. We have a three-ring binder loaded with receipts of the many improvements that were made. Much of the work was done in 2015 by the Texas owner. It has been driven less than 1000 miles since. The improvements made add up to more than the asking price. You will be impressed. This Jeep has the durable 258 inline six cylinder engine. It was rebuilt in 2015. In addition, the distributor was changed to HEI, a new Weber carburetor was installed and it was dressed with an Aluminum valve cover. The T-4 transmission and Dana 300 transfer case were also rebuilt and reconditioned in 2015. We have receipts for all of the work. There is power steering and power brakes on this Jeep. The entire braking system was redone in 2015. They even installed drilled and slotted rotors for the front disc brakes. You will find that all lights and gauges are working properly. A tachometer and temperature gauge were added. The wipers work, as does the heater. In fact, the heater core was replaced and an upgraded heater fan was installed. It will cook you out. There is a modern stereo with Kicker speakers. It sounds great, even in a noisy vehicle like this. Even the parking brake works. Most are frozen up after 35 years of age. The body has been lifted an inch. A Skyjacker 2.5 suspension kit was added. The shackles are now greasable. Rock Sliders with steps protect the sides and rocker panels. The front end has been rebuilt with urethane bushings. New Dick Cepek wheels and 31-10.5-15 tires were installed in 2015. They have under 1000 miles on them. The spare has never been on the ground. The lift and wheel/tire combination look great and aggressive. The Bestop Super Top was new in 2015. It is the top of the line. It is easily converted for open air cruising. New LED lights were also added. You will certainly light up the night. A Smittybilt XRC 9.5k winch with remote was installed. It is ready for its first task. It is waterproof and has a nice cover. The remote resides in the locking center console. The amount of care given is evident by the installment of a battery tender. It is permanently mounted on the inner fender with proper connection to the battery. The power cord is encased in wire loom and the plug is stowed beneath the winch covering. You will see that much thought, effort and expense was invested to make this Jeep so impressive. Older sport utility vehicles are quite the rage. Some are just show pieces or used for going out on the town. This Jeep is ready for so much more. It certainly is show worthy, but most importantly, it is trail ready. And don’t be afraid to cruise the highway. The engine is at 2000 rpm as you cruise at 60 mph. The speedometer is calibrated for the big tires. This Jeep spent its life in the dry South. It has been completely rebuilt, refurbished and revised to be capable and reliable. And if I may say so myself, it is also quite attractive, unique and impressive.
