If you've been looking for a rugged, go-anywhere, square-jawed truck with all the goodies, you've just found a great choice. It's light on options, but it does have power steering and power front disc brakes, which are much appreciated with those massive tires. There's also a new AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash, and for open-air cruising on mild days, nothing beats a pickup with a sliding rear window. The engine is a 350 cubic inch crate motor with a bunch of reputable horsepower-building parts. Edelbrock supplied the carburetor, Weiand supplied the intake manifold, and a set of long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers really make it sound nasty. The engine bay itself is reasonbly clean with body-colored paint on the block and some chrome dress-up, and all the mechanical pieces are in excellent shape. The aforementioned 4-speed manual transmission is linked to a 2-speed transfer case, which feeds both axles when you're off-roading for maximum traction. Underneath, the chassis is solid and highly original, augmented by a modest lift that gives this truck an impressive presence over the other cars on the road.
