Vehicle Description
Up for sale is a special Jaguar XJ-S v12 5-speed. This is Prototype #1 of the Keisler Engineering Tremec TKO 5-speed conversion kit launched in 1999. I collaborated with Shafi Keisler to develop this kit and this car was featured in Jaguar World magazine during the launch of the 5-speed conversion kit’s global marketing campaign. As a long-time Jag owner, I have performed extensive improvements to this car (as outlined in Kirby’s “Book”) all the while addressing all of the shortcomings of the original Jaguar design. The transformational moment, of course, being fitting a 5-speed which dramatically changed the character of this car and set a permanent smile affixed to my face. A partial listing of what has been done. Engine: addition of 6 litre intake manifolds, 3” throttle bodies, true cold air intake, re mapped ECU, 2.75” free-flow stainless exhaust with x pipe and Cats, 4 core custom radiator absolutely NO overheating. New brakes and slotted Brembo rotors (rear). All polyurethane suspension and steering bushings and new springs and shocks, with Addco Front and rear sway bars, excellent handler. ROH 16x8 Wheels all around, original Starfish wheels available. 3.54 differential from 1995 XJ-S installed. This car is a screamer, its performance is extraordinary for a Jag V-12. It sounds great, performs great and is a real head turner. The 5 speed transmission, not only woke up this car from a performance perspective, but also doubled its fuel efficiency. The TKO transmission has a 0.68 5th gear which means cruising at 80mph is done at a scant 1200rpm. I average 29-31 MPG on the highway!!! So much more to describe, but not enough space. I’m the second owner of this car and have owned it for the past 20 years. All documentation available since my ownership. 117k miles $10,000 OBO
