1988 Tiffany Classic Coupe Classic Motor Carriages produced the Tiffany Classic through the 80's and wrapped up their production of this model in 1988. These cars were among the most technically advanced vehicles available in the market back then and came equipped with an amazing list of standard features including power sunroofs, carriage opera roofs, fog lamps, and automatic dimming rearview mirrors. The designers who were tasked with designing this vehicle spent extra time on ensuring that the vehicle had amazing curb appeal with a comfortable interior as well. Although some of these were sold as kits to complete yourself, this was also a true manufactured vehicle in most instances giving it that extra guarantee of quality and consistency one would expect from such a luxurious looking vehicle. The Zimmer is considered an "era" car. Era cars were built from readily available parts (VW or Sprite convertible body, Corvette suspension, Buick/Lincoln/Chevrolet engines, etc.) and made to replicate the long hood, exposed headlight, side-mount spare tire look of the classics of the 1930's. All the parts used were either new or completely rebuilt to be better than new. There were several brands made (Excalibur, Cl�net, Tiffany) and they were all made to the same formula. The exterior is in excellent shape with its beautiful Snow-White paint, the chrome spoke wheels, opera roof with opera lights and even comes with a tint to the windows and pinstripes to emphasize its curves. The interior is just as sharp with its plush tan leather power seating, and interior upgrades. Exterior Snow White paint adorns every corner of metal on this super long (19') vehicle. Stainless accents show some have been cleaned, however seem a bit scratched, and not super shiny. This goes for the grille, headlight and tail light bezels, and bumpers. Light and dark gold pin striping follow the graceful edges of the curving fenders and mini running boards. A larger, lighter gold pinstripe can be seen running at the belt line, again accenting the lines, and curves of this 30's era design. Stainless steel supercharger pipes pierce through the hood of the car and quickly dive under the front fenders. A chorus of trumpet horns adorn the front grille area, however the compressor to blow them seems weak, and full bore horn cannot be achieved without the compressor being worked on or replaced. Dual fog lights are attached but are currently inoperable. The trunk area is secured with leather straps, and wide whitewall tires wrap spoked wheels. Two metal spare tire covers adorned with 30's style wide angle mirrors, flank the hood area and tuck into the front fender descend. Interior Put in your digital entry code and swing open the leather paneled doors and you are met with leather seating that wraps the 2 front buckets, a center armrest, and a rear bench, setting up an interior that can accommodate 5 people. Fronting the buckets is a wood grained dash, including the radio, and gauges are all digital display. Thick carpet, in good condition floods the floor. Within the center console are a myriad of power options including mirrors, windows, and seating controls. Air-conditioning and a power antenna should not go without a mention, although air is not super cold. Drivetrain A multi-port fuel injection 5.0 Liter V8 sits comfortably under the mile-long hood. Attached to the back is an automatic transmission. Undercarriage Some surface rust is showing through the undercoating in various areas but is not serious or affecting the structural integrity of this car. New shocks and struts have been attached, as well as a new oil pan. Otherwise undercarriage and frame are very clean. Mechanically this is a sound vehicle with its multi-port fuel injected 5.0L V8 mated to its rebuilt 4-speed automatic transmission, with only marginal fixes for convenience or cosmetic purposes, this is a great overall ride all things considered!
