Vehicle Description
1989 Porsche 911 Carerra Speedster
Offered for sale by K2 Motorcars is beautiful 1989 Porsche 911 Carerra Speedster finished in Black over a Red Leather interior with rare white seat piping.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its 911, in 1989 Porsche announced a limited edition 911 intended to celebrate the great 356 Speedsters of the 1950s; the Carrera Speedster. Based on the outstanding 3.2 Carrera, with its fuel-injected flat-six and brilliant G50 transaxle, the Speedster was built on a Turbo-specification chassis and equipped with premium cross-drilled brakes with four-piston calipers. The 911 Speedster featured a cut-down windscreen that was lower and more raked than that of the conventional Cabriolet model. A manual soft top offered protection from the elements, while a styled fiberglass tonneau covered the area where the rear seats normally resided. Offered in both M491 Turbo-look and narrow-body configuration, just 2,104 Speedsters were produced for worldwide use, of which 819 were destined for North American delivery lending the commemorative model an added degree of rarity.
Previous paint work has been done to the passenger side rear fender and door. The car was lightly backed into in the current owner's driveway back on 6/18/2013. The owner took all the right steps to have the car properly repaired by renowned Porsche specialists, Orbit Racing in West Palm Beach, and the paint and bodywork done by the best Porsche Approved Collision Center in the area, Fantastic Finishes. The owner's main goal was to make sure the car was returned to better than new condition sparing no expense with roughly $32k worth of receipts on hand to document the process and repair. While the car was being repaired part of that bill was having a full engine-out service having only been driven 2,000 miles since but with regular servicing always performed. Paint Meter readings available upon request.
Delivering a pure, elemental driving experience, the Porsche Speedster is among the most rewarding sports cars of all time. This black over red 911 Carerra Speedster is sure to provide motoring pleasure for years to come.
