1992 FERRARI 512 TR --Rosso Corsa with Black leather Interior, Black carpeting, 5.0 liter Flat 12-cylinder engine, 5-Speed manual transmission, 22,000 miles from new. The Ferrari Testarossa leaped to center stage of the automotive world in 1984 and through 11 years of production it was the definition of a supercar in its era. Equally appreciated for daily transport as on the race track, the Testarossa always makes a bold statement and sets an exciting tone. The standard TR evolved into the 512TR of 1991 and with subtle but effective changes to the body, drive train and interior, the best became even better. Power was delivered in the form of the already exceptional 4.9 Liter Flat 12-cylinder engine producing 428 hp at 6750 rpm with a torque output of 362 ft/lbs at 5500 rpm. The 512 TR accelerates 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and could attain a top speed of 195 mph. The 512 TR was modified from the original TR in several ways. The engine received Nikasil cylinder liners, a new air intake system, Bosch engine management system, larger intake valves and a revised exhaust system. In addition to the higher peak power, the modifications delivered a more broad power curve for better acceleration. Gear shifting effort, always a complaint on the standard Testarossa was now eased with a new single-plate clutch, sliding ball bearings and better angle for the shifter. The braking system included larger front rotors and cross-drilling all around. Quicker steering, lower-profile tires and new shock settings improved handling. Most importantly, engine and gearbox position was rethought, which improved the center of gravity, aiding the handling and making the car less fearsome on the limit. The interior was also revised its center console split from the dashboard, and the climate controls relocated. Last, but not least, Pininfarina tweaked the body of the car to better integrate the spoilers and engine cover for an updated, cleaner look. This 512 TR is a desirable European specification example, and the extra horsepower is immediately felt over a U.S. specification car! The car has been serviced properly and consistently to date, it has recently received a major service and comes complete with ownership documents, service history as well as its original books, tools and extra keys.
